“How do I start a Permanent Jewelry business?”

FAQs

Interested in starting a permanent jewelry business, but have some questions? Scroll through these frequently asked questions about the permanent jewelry industry, and feel free to email twodaisiespermanentjewelry@gmail.com if you have any other questions!

A: Great question! Permanent jewelry is custom-fit jewelry that’s welded (or “zapped”) directly onto your client, no clasps, no fuss. Think dainty chains that stay on for months or years and symbolize special moments or just look super cute.

Q: So… what is permanent jewelry exactly?

  • Nope! You don’t need a background in jewelry or welding to start. Once you learn the basics and get the right tools, you’ll be surprised how easy, and fun, it is to do. A lot of our students launch their businesses within a few weeks!

  • Let’s break it down! To start a permanent jewelry business, you’ll need a few key things:

       •   A welding machine (this is your magic wand )

       •   Chains, jump rings, and other basic materials

       •   Tools like pliers, wire cutters, and grounding accessories

       •   Business basics like insurance, a payment system, and any local licensing

       •   And most importantly… a solid training so you can feel confident and safe from day one.

My course covers everything step-by-step, and if you want to save time sourcing supplies, you can bundle it with a pro kit that includes all the tools and materials you need (Course Options 2, 3 or 4!)

  • Most people invest somewhere between $3,000–$4,500 to get fully set up (training + kit + starter inventory). Our online training course is $1,399, and almost everyone bundles it with a pro kit so they can hit the ground running.

  • Not usually! Most places don’t require a license specifically for permanent jewelry, but we always recommend checking your local rules & regulations just in case. Our training will walk you through how to protect yourself and your clients (and yes, we cover insurance too).

  • Oh, this part is fun! You can pop up at salons, boutiques, markets, events, or even host private parties. Instagram and Facebook are for showing off your work and bringing in clients. Don’t worry, in the course we give you ideas and strategies for all of this, too.

  • Absolutely! Depending on the chain material and style, you can charge anywhere from $45 to $200 or more per piece! Profit margins are high, and once you pay off your startup costs, most pieces cost you just a few dollars to make. It’s not unusual to make your investment back fast. (We’ve even had students make their investment in this course back after ONE or two pop-ups, and then have $10K+ profit months.

  • It’s awesome for moms who want something flexible, beauty pros who want to boost their income, or boutique owners who want something new to offer their customers. If you like making people feel special and want a business that’s creative, fun, and profitable, you’ll love this.
